Members from Pleasant Square, Meco, Sammonsville, and Sir William Johnson Volunteer Fire Companies participated in a pump training exercise held at the Pine Tree Rifle Club this past Monday.
Incident Command System Training
Over the weekend Lieutenant Gabe Acquilla attended a two day training course on ICS 300 in Montgomery County. This course is designed to enable senior staff personnel to operate efficiently during an incident or event within the Incident Command System (ICS). This course focuses on management of expanding incidents and was developed under the leadership of the NWCG and complies with the NIMS/HSPD-5 requirements for Incident Command System training.
Objectives: 1. Describe how the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Command and Management component supports the management of expanding incidents.
2. Describe the incident/event management process for supervisors and expanding incidents as prescribed in the ICS.
3. Implement the incident management process on a simulated Type 3 incident.
4. Develop an Incident Action Plan for a simulated incident.
